What is a Jesus Moment? Jesus Moments are those times throughout the day when you feel very connected to Jesus. They are the times when we get a glimpse of the ‘not yet” breaking into the “now”. Sometimes they are like a spiritual light bulb going off. They can happen at any time and they can happen often. They can happen during prayer, Bible study, or fellowship. They can happen while you are encouraging others or demonstrating acts of kindness. They can happen when you are sitting quietly or when you are running around busy. They sometimes happen when you least expect them and there are those times when you feel like they aren’t happening as often as you would like. Jesus Moments are those precious times when you know that you know that He is with you and for you and that you are not alone.

What is A Jesus Moment the website, about? It is about my questions, thoughts, ideas and ramblings on life, particularly life from my perspective as a Pastor, husband, father, grandfather, and son. It is about living as a Christian and trying to figure out what that looks like in the midst of my own short comings in a fallen world on a broken planet. It is about the struggles that come while trying to live by “doing the next right thing”. It is about the funny things and the sad things and the boring things and the exciting things I experience. It is my hope that it will be a resource to help others in their desire to walk with Jesus, and to be a help in developing a disciples heart.

What is Preaching in Shorts? Preaching in Shorts actually has a double meaning. The first thing Preaching in Shorts refers to is the fact that I actually where shorts when I preach. I know for some people that would disqualify me almost immediately from having anything to say, but, I live in the Florida Keys and people wear shorts here. So, like Paul said:

1 Corinthians 9:22b-23 (NIV)
… I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

I just made Preaching in Shorts sound very spiritual. Preaching in Shorts also refers to a series of short Bible Studies and Sermons (20 – 30 minutes each) that we do here on A Jesus Moment to try and explain the basics of the Christian life in an easy to understand way.
