Are you Considering?

Here is a Kingdom Thought for the day. Having recently memorized Hebrews 10:24, which says “let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds”, I have been thinking about if we really take this verse to heart. I mean, how much time do you really spend considering how to spur other people on toward love and good deeds? I think that an honest answer to that question for most people would be, “none to very little”. That is why I believe the Ministry of Encouragement is so important. By becoming ministers of encouragement, it should help us to quit being so self focused and get our focus on to God and others. It is in loving God and others well that we really find life in the Kingdom of God. As long as the focus is on us, we are not entering the life of the Kingdom that God wants for us. Our self focus keeps us in a state of anxiety and worry. Every new situation and circumstance leads us to a “what does this mean for me” mental trauma. And yet, if we get our perspective for life from the throne room of God, we can experience the peace of God in the midst of circumstances. I would encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus, to consider how you might spur others on toward love and good deeds, and to let your motivation for life be grounded in his love.
