Bible Reading Joshua 1 – 4
Today’s chapters, found on the right hand side of A Jesus Moment are Joshua 1-3. After the death of Moses, Joshua is put in charge. God is preparing Joshua to lead the people and He is admonishing him to be strong and courageous. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to try and fill Moses’ shoes. No wonder God is giving Joshua so much encouragement. What about Rahab lying for the spies? Is lying ever OK? Stopping up the Jordan river at flood stage? Our God is awesome!
The verse that I will be thinking about today is from Joshua 1:8:
Joshua 1:8 (New International Version)
8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Being careful to do everything written it. I am not there yet, but I will keep trying to live by doing the next right thing.
