Changes in Attitude
Maybe it is time for attitude adjustment. Philippians 2:5 says:
Philippians 2:5 (New International Version)
5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Those eleven words should really get your attention. Your attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ. I shall repeat my opening statement, maybe it is time for an attitude change. Let’s look at the verse in context:
Philippians 2:5-11 (New International Version)
5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
I think that when we get bad attitudes it means that we have gotten off track. A bad attitude is normally a pretty good sign that we are stuck on the ME train. We get lost in the world according to ME and we lose focus on what really matters. We can change our attitude by changing our focus off of US and on to God and others. Start the change by remembering some things you are thankful for and thinking of ways to encourage others.
