Jesus is the Bridegroom
ByI have been finishing up my preparations this afternoon for the four Weekend services I preach/teach/talk/share which start tonight. I am going to be talking about Jesus as our bridegroom, and how we, the church, are his bride. I am using the communion table to illustrate this message. As I prepare, I am in awe of the beauty of the imagery that the Lord has given us. I am overwhelmed by the vastness of his love. I am hopeful that the people who come will be able to see the lengths that God has gone to, in order that He might be in relationship with them forever.
I am aware of my sin. I am aware of my need for grace and mercy. I am aware that apart from him I can do nothing. I am aware that I am longing for Him to return. I am aware that I want to redeem the time until He returns, but that I get lazy and complacent while I wait.
I am also aware that in spite of my brokenness, He loves me, and He is coming to take me with Him soon, to be with Him forever. Come Lord Jesus!
