    Morning Reflection – April 1 2012

    • April 1, 2012 • Comments (0)

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  In my Bible reading today this verse has caught my attention: 2 Samuel 24:24 24 But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” I will not offer anything to [...]

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  I want to encourage you today to take some time and think about how amazing it is to be included in His story.  You are an adjective in a story of the most amazing noun there is.  Live your life today in a way that describes Him well.

    Morning Reflection – March 30 2012

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  I am so thankful for new starts.  God’s mercies are new every morning, which is so cool because my messes are new every day.  His mercies cover my messes.  I am praying that on this day, my messes would be fewer as I try and live by doing the next [...]

    Galatians Chapter 4

    • March 29, 2012 • Comments (0)

As we start chapter four, Paul also tells us that now that Christ has come, those who have faith in Him are no longer under the supervision of the law. In Christ we all—male and female, slave and free—have received the “full rights of sons.” The full rights of sons is more of a Roman concept that a Jewish one. In the Roman culture, what the father possessed was considered to belong to the child as well. Paul is saying that all the resources of God become ours as heirs of God, and we are able to draw directly on them to live our new lives.

    Morning Reflection – March 29 2012

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  Jesus, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  What was the joy set before Him?  What was it that motivated Him to endure the cross?  You.  You are the joy set before [...]

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  I was reading in 2 Samuel this morning the story of David and Bathsheba.  What a mess David caused!  And the problems all started in verse 1 of Chapter 11, check it out and see for yourself: 2 Samuel 11 1 In the spring, at the time when kings go [...]

    Morning Reflection – March 27 2012

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  Today I was reading in 2 Samuel 9 and it includes one of my favorite stories, the story of Mephibosheth. 2 Samuel 9:11 11 Then Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table [...]

    Developing a Disciple’s Heart – Part 9

    • March 26, 2012 • Comments (0)

When we are truly rejoicing in the Lord, we will be gentle. When we are connected, experiencing His presence in our lives, gentleness will be a result. It is hard to be selfish and rude when you are experiencing His new and living way. Both rejoicing and gentleness demonstrate a focus on the eternal over the temporal. Gentleness means, at times, losing arguments, giving up so-called rights, foregoing last words, letting others get their way.

A Jesus Moment morning reflection.  During my daily Bible reading, I spent some time considering Obed-Edom.  Check out these verses: 2 Samuel 6:8-11  8 Then David was angry because the LORD’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.[i] 9 David was afraid of the LORD that [...]
