Seeing People With God’s Eyes

1 Samuel 16:7 says this:

7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. That verse got me thinking about how important it is to not so quickly judge people by their outward appearance. And yet, we often never consider people past our initial assessment which is almost always based on appearance. My prayer for today is that I will be able to see people the way that God sees them. Not just strangers, but also the people that are closest to me. I want to see them with his eyes and then try and love them with His love!
